Perch People

As the UK eases out of lockdown, we have been catching up with some of our co-working friends to find out how they feel about returning to work.

Anna Saunders, SmartPA

Hi Anna, tell us about yourself and your business.

I am a SmartPA partner based south of Northamptonshire. I help businesses virtually by taking on their day-to-day secretarial and administrative duties, so they can get on with the important parts of their business. Previously I worked in hospitality and events. I opted for a career change two years ago to work more flexibly around my growing family while being able to put my organisational skills to good use!

How did you hear about Perch Co-working?

Through one of the owners, Andy who I met at a networking event in Brackley. I had just started my business so took the opportunity to go take a look. I have been working here at least once a week ever since.

What workspace challenges brought you to Perch?

For me, it’s the change of scenery and to meet other people. It’s important to have a good network around you. I like the fact I can pop out to the high street too.

How would you describe Perch to someone who has never used the space before?

Welcoming and friendly. You can choose to hide in a quiet corner or be as sociable as you like depending on your workload.

What are your favourite features or aspects of working from Perch?

The overall design is beautiful. I love the style of the desks and chairs and the coffee machine is pretty cool. It’s a little bit of London in the heart of Bicester.

How do you see your working habits change over the next 12-months?

Not much to be honest. I am expecting our second child in September, so apart from that, I will continue to work flexibly to help people and their businesses.

How did you feel using Perch for the first time since lockdown?

I felt comfortable. There’s plenty of space, everyone has been very respectful of each other and everything is clearly marked out. It’s been nice to catch up with people and even treat myself to an M&S lunch!

What advice would you give to other business professionals returning to work?

Be open-minded with regards to other people. Be prepared to flexible with your own working situation and with others. Be open to change and embrace it.

What’s next for your business?

To keep it steady, grow organically and enjoy it. I am focusing on the longterm.
